For the librespot backend only. The playback credential must be minted with Spotify's own client ID, which accepts loopback redirects only (http://127.0.0.1:<port>/login). The host needs a short-lived loopback listener a plugin can request during login, with a paste-back fallback when the browser is on another machine.

See ADR 0021. Acceptance:

listener is opt-in per login attempt, bound to 127.0.0.1, closes on result or timeout
result is routed to the requesting plugin like the existing LoginCallback
works on Windows, macOS and Android
