Make the Windows build installable with winget install SBDevelopment.Medley.

Decisions

  • Identifier: SBDevelopment.Medley, moniker medley, license MIT.
  • Installer: NSIS .exe from the official release. InstallerType: nullsoft, Scope: user (Tauri default per-user, no installMode change), silent switch /S.
  • InstallerUrl: public Forgejo release asset + SHA256.
  • Builds: official v* releases only. Never unofficial-v* (librespot build, legal review pending, #90).
  • Signing: out of scope. Installer stays unsigned; expect SmartScreen warnings and possibly slower winget review. Separate ticket for signing.
  • Updater: keep the in-app Tauri updater alongside winget upgrade; NSIS upgrades in place. Revisit if version drift causes problems.

Tasks

  • Verify the Forgejo Windows release asset URL is publicly downloadable without auth and stable per version.
  • Create the first manifest with wingetcreate new and submit the PR to microsoft/winget-pkgs (needs the owner's GitHub account).
  • Add a WINGET_PAT secret and a step in .github/workflows/desktop.yml that runs wingetcreate update SBDevelopment.Medley --urls <asset> --version <v> --submit after the Windows asset is uploaded, official v* tags only.
  • Document the winget flow and secret in docs/development.md (Releasing section).

Acceptance

  • winget install SBDevelopment.Medley installs the current official release silently per-user.
  • A new v* tag results in an automatic winget-pkgs PR.
  • unofficial-v* tags never trigger it.
Make the Windows build installable with `winget install SBDevelopment.Medley`. ## Decisions - **Identifier:** `SBDevelopment.Medley`, moniker `medley`, license MIT. - **Installer:** NSIS `.exe` from the official release. `InstallerType: nullsoft`, `Scope: user` (Tauri default per-user, no installMode change), silent switch `/S`. - **InstallerUrl:** public Forgejo release asset + SHA256. - **Builds:** official `v*` releases only. Never `unofficial-v*` (librespot build, legal review pending, #90). - **Signing:** out of scope. Installer stays unsigned; expect SmartScreen warnings and possibly slower winget review. Separate ticket for signing. - **Updater:** keep the in-app Tauri updater alongside `winget upgrade`; NSIS upgrades in place. Revisit if version drift causes problems. ## Tasks - [x] Verify the Forgejo Windows release asset URL is publicly downloadable without auth and stable per version. - [x] Create the first manifest with `wingetcreate new` and submit the PR to `microsoft/winget-pkgs` (needs the owner's GitHub account). - [x] Add a `WINGET_PAT` secret and a step in `.github/workflows/desktop.yml` that runs `wingetcreate update SBDevelopment.Medley --urls <asset> --version <v> --submit` after the Windows asset is uploaded, official `v*` tags only. - [ ] Document the winget flow and secret in `docs/development.md` (Releasing section). ## Acceptance - `winget install SBDevelopment.Medley` installs the current official release silently per-user. - A new `v*` tag results in an automatic winget-pkgs PR. - `unofficial-v*` tags never trigger it.
